Three Lady Rams named to South 7 All-Conference soccer team

Mt. Vernon sophomore Sophie Laughlin led the Lady Rams in scoring. She was one of three members of the team to make the All-South 7 Conference second team.

Three members of the Mt. Vernon Lady Rams’ soccer team were named to the 2017 South Seven All-Conference team.
All three members were selected to the All-Conference second team.
Sophomore forward Sophie Laughlin led the team in scoring with 24 goals. That helped her earn a spot on the all-conference team.
In addition to Laughlin, sophomore midfielder Rhiannon Gudermuth and her sister, junior defender Raven Gudermuth were also selected.


Alaina White of Marion was named the offensive player of the year. Lindsay O’Dell of Althoff and Brianna Shafer of Marion were named as co-defensive player of the year.
Ortez Davis was selected as coach of the year.
Carbondale had three players named to the first team (Faith Golz, Mary Goodale, and Claire Kippenbrock). Five players from Althoff Catholic were selected on the first team (Amanda Kaltwasser, Emelia O’Neil, O’Dell, Nicole Jones and Rachel Moken). Finally, Marion is represented on the first team by White, Marissa Basi, Nicole Szidik and Shafer.
In addition to the first team selections, Carbondale also had five players make the second team, Marion had two and Althoff Catholic had one.
The lone Centralia player to make the squad was defender Morgan Maas, who was selected to the second team.
