WOODLAWN – No. 2 seed Woodlawn short-gamed Webber Township, 10-0, in high school Class 1A softball regional action.
Woodlawn collected 16 hits on the day. Kiara Lueking got the win allowing two hits, no runs, walking one and striking out eight.
At the plate, she was 2-for-4. Morgahn Petersen was 1-for-3 with a RBI. Kalyn Crider finished 3-for-4 with a double, home run and a RBI.
Callie Lueking was 2-for-4with a RBI. Madison Tiemann finished 3-for-3 with a double and three RBI and Brianna Ward was 1-for-3 with a RBI.
Hallie Hill was 3-for-4with two doubles, a home run, and three RBI while Savannah Petersen was 1-for-3.
The Trojans’ two hits came off the bat of Kinzi Hutchinson and Macy Anderson.
Woodlawn (18-9) advances to the regional championship on Saturday. Game time is scheduled for 11 AM.
The Cardinals will play the winner of Wednesday’s other semifinal game between Clay City and South Central.
